Escuta preta: Support groups as a strategy for aquilombamento
Keywords:
Support, Group processes, Institutional racism, Black populationAbstract
This article presents a reflection on the Escuta Preta extension project, developed over three years at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). The objective of the initiative is to create a space for listening and support for Black students, through group techniques, reflective dynamics, and thematic approaches aligned with the specific demands of this population. The project has reached its sixth edition, establishing itself as a relevant institutional resource. Among the most significant results are the strengthening of bonds between participants, the promotion of a sense of belonging, and the creation of a more welcoming environment within a predominantly white institution.
