A theatrical psychodramatic approach with elderly in a residential setting

Abstract

This reflective article addresses a research project conducted in the scope of the Supervised Internship III–Theatre Workshop, part of the bachelor’s degree in Theatre at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, focusing on psychodrama. The project adopted the drama as a methodological approach to theatre education with the elderly, exploring the theme of memories, and was conducted in 2018 at Lar Vila Itagiba, located in the municipality of Santa Maria (RS), Brazil. From this perspective, the general objective of the research was to investigate the practice of drama with the elderly, based on their memories, during psychodramatic sessions.
